Masaka High Court Judge, Lawrence Tweyanze has scheduled the 13/2/2023 as date in which he will consider the bail application of Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ssegirinya and his Makindye West counterpart Allan Ssewanyana who both face allegations of involvement in machete killings in the greater Masaka region.
Justice Tweyanze also ordered for Hon.Ssewanyana who is currently admitted at Mulago Hospital to be allowed access to specialized treatment following his lawyer's plea for his health to be prioritized.
Earlier the Judge had inquired if the parties were ready to proceed with the trial of the case, to which prosecution stated that it is unable to bear the burden of handling the cases in both Kampala and Masaka involving the same suspects and witnesses at the same time,as such requested to first handle the case before the ICD in Kampala before embarking on the trial of the Masaka cases.
Counsel for the accused Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago described the new prosecution position as very baffling since its against their earlier stance in which they vehemently opposed the his application to join the two files and prosecute them together.

Hon. Kayemba solo,
Hon. Patrick Nsanja and Mukyala sendaula(Maama sewa ) mother to Hon.Allan as sureties said that he will proceed to extract orders to enable Hon.Ssewanyana get specialized treatment as they await for the bail application to be considered.
