NEW :Five prisoners have perished in an accident on Gulu highway

 

Five prisoners have perished in an accident that happened on monday morning 30th may 2022  in Luwero Gulu-kampala  highway. 

The accident involv.ed a Tata vehicle registration number UG363U belonging to Uganda persons  which collided with a Toyota  wish number  UBG 587W in a village called Nalongo. 

The Tata had 54 prisoners and 12 prison officers.Luwero District Police commander ,Mr Living Twazagye confirmed the fatal accident that killed five prisoners on spot while  several others including two prison Warders sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Luwero Hospital .

Meanwhile the Savana Region police spokesperson , ASP Isah Ssemwogerere says the driver of the saloon car disappeared and is on the run
