Fire gutted the stores of kakira sugar on Friday 27th may 2022 destroying property Worth millions of shilling. Eye witness say it was at around 7:30pm when they saw huge flames of fire and smoke in the sky only to realize it was the store burning .

The main store containing all supplies for Kakira sugar factory was destroyed by fire.According to reports,this store is mainly to store supplies and equipments before they are distributed to other departments and branches.
The police fire brigade of Kiira region and Busoga East together with that of the factory were still putting out the fire by 11:30 pm. Police say the extent of damage is very big.
