Gen. David Sejusa who is also known as Tinyefuza has Thursday finally signed retirement documents 24 years after his first attempt to leave the army. This has been confirmed by the army spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye who said Sejusa will be retired under Batch 12 in July this year.
Sejusa’s first attempt to leave the army was on December 3, 1996. At the time, Sejusa applied to resign from the army citing harassment and intimidation by the Military High Command.
However, his request was denied. He turned to court, which ruled in his favour and gave him a go ahead to retire. After protracted court battles, the matter was later settled out of court and Sejusa returned to UPDF until 2016 when he launched another attempt to leave the army although unsuccessful until today when his request was finally granted.
