Salam Charity donates Shs15m towards construction of Nakaloke Mosque in Mbale City.
The team led by their Executive Director, Hajji Abdul-Karim Kaliisa handed over a cheque of Ugx15m to the management of Nakaloke Center Mosque in a mini fundraising drive.
The 3.5b shillings mosque is expected to become the second largest in the country, with a sitting capacity of over 5000 people.
Mr Mbogo Muhammed, the Treasurer of Nakaloke Center Mosque Construction Committee, said the fundraising raised over 45m shillings towards the project.
"The Fundraising drive attracted companies like Hill water which contributed 250 bags of cement valued at Shs10m, The spot cafe Shs1m, Counsel Paul Wanyoto Shs2m among others,"he said.
H.E. Amb. Dr.Hassan Galiwango the chief mobilizer for the construction said, President Museveni pledged Shs400m towards this project.
"It was agreed that they pay us in three phases, 150million was cleared and the remaining amount will be coming soon,"he said.
Dr Galiwango calls for Financial discipline to succeed in the construction of the Masjid.
"As Ugandans we need to contribute towards the building of this mosque because we can't only leave the Arabs to get rewards,"he said.
Sheikh Balamazi Salliman Faris, the imam of Nakaloke Center Mosque applauded the Salam charity for its commitment towards the Constriction of the mosque.
"I encourage all Muslims to contribute to the construction of the mosque because it gives an unending reward," he said.
