BUSHENYI– Members of Parliament have been challenged to lobby for their constituents instead of putting much emphasis on paying the media for fake publicity.
The words were said by Members of Parliament on Sunday during the fundraising and memorial service at Buramba primary school in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi that was meant to construct two dormitories for both boys and girls in memory of 8 pupils who were struck by lightning on 24th July 2014.
According to the Ruhinda South MP Capt. Dononzio Mugabe Kahonda, even if an MP speaks Everytime in Parliament but without anything to show on ground, that legislator will be as good as nothing.
He thus advised that it’s better for MPs balance both Parliament and their areas, lobby for the electorates rather paying the media to advertise and publish naked lies about their performance.
The dormitories are expected to cost Ugx 70 Million where it’s said that the Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality MP Derrick Kabuura Beimukye who was the chief guest, with his 7 guest MPs from all corners raised Ugx 30 Million cash.
Another prominent Businessman in Bushenyi Apollo Beimukye commonly known as BAM contributed 100 bags of cement towards the same cause.
According to Tumwebaze Francis Karebi the Buramba Primary School head teacher, on 24 July 2014, four boys and four girls all in P6 and P7 classes were struck dead by the lightning adding that the school community found it good to keep remembering them.
The deceased were Mukundamukama, Hilary Tumusiime P7, Agnes Kyomugisha P7, Junior Nuwahereza, Danson Nuwamanya P7, Comfort Akampurira (14) P6, Grace Ainembabazi (14) and Annita Nuwandida (14) all in P6.
