It was also a big undertaking for Kyagulanyi to acquire a vehicle NUP for 2021 to offer accommodation to Politicians who were stranded due to misgovernance at Uganda's oldest Party (DP) where the regime led by Mao had intended to collapse a full generation of seasoned Politicians mainly in Buganda.
Nambooze continues to say that Kyagulanyi also opened up for Busoga a new generation of Politicians as the seniors in the region for example Kirunda Kivejinja were bowing out some through death, old and weak-age.
So today a Manjeri Kyebakutiika stands firm where Specioza Kazibwe would have stood! For Northern Uganda having been shaken by internal Party wrangles and conflicts within FDC, there seemed to be no alternative apart from joining Nrm so an option NUP offered an alternative where non was expected.
To the people of Western Uganda,Kyagulanyi offered an opportunity for them to demonstrate to Ugandans to fellow Ugandans that they were not in the ruling party on tribal grounds and yes, many of them joined other Ugandans in the Kyagulanyi /NUP vehicle and not Museveni's bus. To our youth, Kyagulanyi demonstrated that its possible and Yes, they did it.
Today the Ugandan Parliament has young people in dozens, a great big shift from the old to the New and young Parliament.
This same opportunity is mirrored by many local governments like the 24 year old District Chairperson and the Butambala.
