Police in Manafwa district has arrested two people for reportedly smuggling meat.
Last week, Government announced a total ban on the sale and movement of livestock in Bududa, Manafwa and Namisindwa districts in Bugisu sub region in a bid to contain Anthrax disease that has so far killed one person in Bududa and left 11 infected.
The suspects who were using a saloon car Reg No. UAF 308Y were identified as Edirisa Kamukamu and Francis Kimuna.

Dr. Eric Mugasa, Manafwa District Veterinary Officer, told the reporter of Bugisu intellectual forum that Anthrax is a deadly because it kills both animals and human being.
"People should stop eating meat. Cattle theft has also increased in district,"Dr Mugasa said.
The Deputy RDC of Manafwa, Luka Kigenyi, confirmed the arrest saying investigations are on going.
Mr Kigenyi warned residents to stop eating meat.
