Police in Butaleja district has arrested a teacher at Mabale primary school over sodomizing 18 children at the school.
According to Bukedi South Region spokesperson IP Mugwe J. Moses, identified the suspect as Magombe Robert a 40-year-old teacher at Mabale primary school in Butaleja district.
Mugwe said, the case was reported to Butaleja central police station by Nambula David Magson the Headteacher of Mabale primary school in Butalejja sub-county, Butalejja District as one of his teachers has been sodomizing male pupils.
"The suspect allegedly sodomized over eighteen pupils between January and May 2022 at the school." He added.
"Headteacher and 13 (Thirteen) of the 18 victims recorded statements at Butaleja central police station." IP Mugwe noted.
A team of officers led by OC Station, Ag. D/CIDO, Soco and other Police Officers visited the Scene of crime.
Mugwr said, they will carry out medical examinations on the victims with the help of the Regional Police Surgeon as inquiries into this matter continue.
