New Mbale City Chairperson Land board pledges to fight land grabbers.

The newly Appointed Chairperson Mbale City land board, Mr Paul Mugoya Wanyoto, has promised to revive the area’s lost glory by fighting land grabbers.
The 40-year-old Lawyer, who has previously contested for Parliamentary seat for Mbale Northern City Division, was last month appointed by Mbale City Council to head the Land board.
He made the remarks during a thanksgiving ceremony at his countryside home in Nabweya, Northern City Division in Mbale City on Saturday.
"In my tenure i will work with the planners to bring back the green spaces and the play grounds for children such as Lions park. You will not hear anywhere that i have given open spaces to private developers." Wanyoto said.
Mr Wanyoto vowed to serve all the people irrespective of their political, religious or tribal belonging.
He expressed concerns over the increasing cases of land grabbing and illegal evictions.
Mr Wanyoto said he is excited about the task ahead.
