NEWS:prime minister,Rt.Hon. Nabbaja Robina launches Construction of a 45 billion Shillings specialised hospital project in Hoima City.

 


Construction works for a multi billion specialised hospital project was today launched in Hoima City by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who represented President Museveni.  


This project is an initiative by the Catholic Diocese of Hoima, under the leadership of Bishop Vincent Kirabo Amooti.


The foundation stone for the proposed construction of St. Mary's Specialised Children and Women's Hospital at Bujumbura Cathedral in Hoima City, was laid by the Prime Minister who represented President Museveni. 


This facility, to be constructed in a phased manner, is expected to serve Bunyoro, uganda Africa and beyond. In a speech read for him by the Prime Minister, Museveni appreciated the  initiative taken by the Catholic Diocese of Hoima to start construction of such a specialised hospital. 


The President pledged 300 million shillings towards the construction of this Specialised hospital project. 


The Prime Minister on her own behalf contributed 20 Million shs cash. She also delivered 5 million shillings contributed by the Minister for ICT who doubles as NRM Vice Chairperson  Western Region Dr Chris Baryomunsi. 


The Bishop of Hoima Catholic diocese Rt Rev Kirabo Vicent Amooti the hospital is intended to address rampant curative and preventive health related challenges in Bunyoro and beyond.


He says the 7 year project will cost over 40bn shs . A total of over 300million shs cash was collected today  and 1.8bn in Pledges from politicians, cooperate organisations and well-wishers.


This specialised hospital will occupy 28,000 Square metres and will sit on 7.2 acres of land provided by the Dioscese. 


The ceremony was attended by a cross section of Ministers 

, Members of Parliament ,local leaders and the clergy.


The Premier later in the day also graced the occasion of fundraising for Kyazanga Sub county headquarters inc Lwengo District and contributed 20M shillings she crowned her day by presiding over women's day celebrations for Kazo District where she contributed over 20M shs to the women SACCO and other groups.
