Uganda National Teacher’s Union Secretary-General, Filbert Baguma, has warned government to stop threatening teachers.
He says they are not like chicken that they can be chased just like that. Filbert has advised government to streamline teachers’ salaries.
“Let’s have a committee to make sure salaries are streamlined and let the government look for a supplementary. This idea of saying you’ll chase the teachers as if you are chasing chicken thieves won’t work. Instead of wasting time going to school looking for teachers, we would be looking for a solution. We have said the teachers are at home and you are going to school looking for them.”
Filbert Baguma says teachers are willing to go back to class, however, the government needs to know that both arts and science teachers need the same treatment
