NEWS:Government avails Shs 135 billion for food in karamoja for three months .

 

This was declared by The prime minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah while appearing before parliament. 

The prime minister also told parliament that the affected districts of Karamoja shall get seedlings for planting in order to increase food production in the communities. 

"I want to assure you colleagues that over 200 matric tons of food has gone to karamoja and we want to see how to secure karamoja  as it stands" Nabbanja further said that cabinet that sat on Monday,July ,11,2022 Noted with concern that thr situation in karamoja  was not Good ams come up with a better resolution to solve the matter of hunger 

Faith Nakuk,the Napak District woman MP,told media that people in karamoja sub-region are dying of hunger caused by the bad weather that has failed Agriculture in the region. 

In the same interview,Nakut said that although there has been response by the office of the Prime minister to give food,more is needed to be done to clear this problem permanently. 

The deputy speaker,Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa,tasked the prime minister to present a comprehensive statement on Government strategy to resolve the food Crisis not only Karamoja but  in the entire region
