NEWS:VP. Alupo close the 5-days APRM Youth symposium in the Pearl of Africa.

 


 H.E Rtd Maj. Jessica Alupo, the  Vice President of the Republic of Uganda has  close the 5-days #APRMYouth5 symposium in the Pearl of Africa. 

The symposium which was held from speke resort  Munyoyo,kicked off on July 4th ending today the 7th of july 2022.

The event had delegates representing diverse groups, namely government, civil society, the private sector as well as youth parliamentarians, from across the 55 Member States of the African Union, 





who are utilizing the opportunity to network and share ideas on issues imperative to the empowerment of the African youth.



During her closing remarks,the vice president called for unity, togetherness,innovation and use youth voices as young people in issues relating to them."the youth future entirely begins with them & what they hold as individuals"said Vice president H.E Alupo ,she Further encouraged the youths to always have the right attitude, right ideological clarity,pointing out the need for capacity building and skills development as well,as knowledge transfer among African youth.



While addressing  delegates to the symposium, Prof Eddy Maloka, CEO of the APRM continental secretariat, said youth mainstreaming in Africa’s democratic governance processes would allow young people the opportunity to bring their exuberance to bear in the processes. 


To this end, he said young people occupy an important place in APRM’s philosophy, methodology and processes.He further thanked Uganda Government,more so  president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for hosting  the delegation.
