Local Leaders at all levels in Bugisu have been asked to put aside political feelings and zero their energy at lobbying and supporting projects which will uplift household income.
The call was made by Kefa Mafumo the Assistant Private Secretary to H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the President of the Republic of Uganda.
Mafumo says intrigue and badmouthing of top leaders and governments projects especially on social media and radio shows has costed the region opportunities to improve livelihoods.
Mafumo, the former Mbale District Youth Chairperson says its high time leaders refocused their priorities and give direction to their electorates an idea he says had done wonders in other sub regions.
Mafumo's comes at the a time when a section of Bamasaaba have started castigating the Minister in charge of Karamoja affairs especially on her role in the just concluded Imbalu launch.
Mafumo says there is need for Bagisu especially young people to protect and promote leaders who have done tremendous work for the sub region.
He explain that such baseless attacks only taints the name of our own leaders before the appointing authority.
Bwayo Emma the Namisindwa Male Youth Councillor blames majority leaders for deliberately relegating young people from the kitchen to the dinning room. Bwayo explains that most young people need opportunities for them to thrive but instead some leaders enjoy using them for own benefits.
He however condemned the baseless attacks on Dr Mary Goretti Kitutu explaining the the task to issue accountability should entirely be put on the committee heads.
