Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has inspected the newly constructed Busega Market in Rubaga Division,Kampala City to asses the level of preparedness ahead of it's official opening.
Nabbanja in Company of Local Government Minister Rapheal Magyezi, Minister for Kampala Hajat Minsa Kabanda, State Minister for Kampala Kyoofatogabye Kabuye, technical officials,RCCs and other local leaders conducted a guided tour around the market with over 2000 stalls.
Nabbanja's visit follows numerous complaints about structural defects that have caused delays in the official opening of the multibillion market.
Nabbanja directed the contractor to rectify the defects within two months. She also directed KCCA to ensure all structures built in the road reserve infront of the market are demolished within two months.
The magnificent market was constructed under the urban markets and marketing of agricultural products with funding from government of Uganda and Arab bank for economic development in Africa.
