A landslide hit two sub counties in Bududa district.

Over 20 homes in Bududa district have been buried by landslide which occurred this evening during heavy downpour.

According to Patrick Nabutanyi  Kibeti the public relations officer of Bududa district  the affected sub counties are Nakatis in three parishes  of Bumukonya, Bunambautu and Bumusenyi also in Bushika sub county at Naposhi parish.

He adds that houses which were buried were not having people after flying yesterday following the cracks which were seen due to heavy downpour.


Kibeti also says that other properties like crops, animals, trees among others have been buried by land in the two sub counties.

Kamoti Wasunguyi the LCV chairperson of Bududa district says that land sides are still occurring in the area during these heavy rains.

He urged people living in risk areas to leave the place such that they can look safe places of resettlement as they wait for government
