President M7's Convoy crashes 3 on Northern By-pass, police issues official statement

 



POLICE: ''Nobody died on the Northern bypass accident''.


This morning at around 11:40am we registered a case of serious accident along Northern bypass around Masanafu, where a boda boda cyclist rammed into one of the motor vehicle 's on the Presidential convey.

The lead car had cleared the road for other motor vehicles on the convey to follow all of a sudden, the rider of motor cycle registration number UPM 260F joined and rammed into one of the vehicles.

The motor cyclist was carrying two passengers which is even illegal. 

All the three passengers who were on the motor cycle got injured  and were rushed to hospital but nobody died in the accident.


The particulars of the victims  and their current conditions are as below:

1. Maka Charles has been taken for scan at New Mulago.

2. Nabanja Joan has been taken by relatives to Mengo hospital.

Elama Eric disappeared on arrival at  Mulago hospital.


We want to inform motorists that the Presidential convey has right of way as per section 123 (4) of the Traffic and Road Safety Axt 1998 as amended, when the convey is  passing, you are supposed to park your motor vehicle or motor cycle until when the last vehicle in convey passes you that is when you are supposed to join the road.
