Seven officials In Mbale City arrested for selling Government Land.


State House  anti-corruption team together with  Uganda Police have arrested former Nakaloke Town Council, Mbale District officials for illegally allocating govt land measuring 52 acres to private individuals.


The suspects include; Mulyanyuma Aaron- former Town Clerk, Waboga Kassim-Deputy Town Clerk, Wazemwa Monica-Physical Planner, Nambuya Mary, Wosheba Godfrey -members of the Physical Planning Committee, Sarah Khauta and Zebia Edyau-members of the Area Land Committee.


The Unit says the above individuals have been threatening to demolish existing government structures including a health center, boreholes & an old Court building.


The Unit has praised the Mbale Northern division leadership including the District Police Commander, Mayor, Deputy Resident City Commissioner, LC1 and 2 chairpersons for their commitment in the fight to save government land.


SH-ACU was established under Article 99(4) of the constitution of Uganda, which gives the President executive powers to either directly or indirectly perform his duties or through officers subordinate to him.


Launched on 10th December 2018, SH-ACU coordinates with all constitutionally mandated agencies to ensure that complaints raised by citizens are resolved.


The Unit also acts as a link between H.E. the President, citizens, and Anti- Corruption agencies in relation to the Anti-Corruption issues.
