The joint security forces involved in disarmament operations in Karamoja have reached their target of collecting 500 illegal firearms from rustlers.
The Mt. Moroto Regional Police spokesperson Micheal Longole reveals that the 500 illegal guns and 3,590 rounds of ammunition were recovered from July 17th, 2021 to August 2022.
According to Longole, this has also reduced cattle raids from 100 raids in one week across the region to currently one raid registered in a week.
This Achievement has left Hon. Agnes Nandutu, Bududa woman MP, who also doubles as the state minister for karamoja in jubilation. Via her official twitter account, Hon Minister Nandutu thanked president Yoweri kaguta Museveni & UPDF for the great work done.
