One person has been confirmed dead after being buried by landslide at Bulambuli.

One person has been confirmed dead today Sunday after being buried by land which hit four sub counties in Bulambuli district.

According to Geoffrey Bayola the resident district commissioner of Bulambuli district identified the affected sub counties as Bumasobo, Soti, Simpondo and Buluganya.

He adds that landslide happened this afternoon after a heavy downpour which has lasted two days since yesterday.

Charles Wasika the LCI chairperson of Sasa village from Bumasobo Sub County only identified the deceased as Mako was buried by landslide while at his garden doing farming this afternoon.

Emmanuel Masuba, one of the area residents, says that other properties which have been buried by the landslide are animals,crops like tomatoes, cabbage, coffee among others.

He urged government to evacuate people living in the area since they are at risk of being buried by more landslides as rains continues
