KCCA procures Eight Ambulances after receiving pressure from city Councilors.

Kampala city council Authority  (KCCA) has procured Eight (8) ambulances out of Ten (10) after facing tremendous pressure from Lord Councillors about the accountability of Covid money worth 1.2b.

It should be noted that tax payers money worth 4b was earmarked in 2021 to KCCA to fight covid 19. In the funds many things were supposed to be purchased that included ambulances, mobile laboratories/ testing  vehicles, Personal protecting equipments etc.

However among the said things that were to be purchased in that period, most of them were not bought.

Mubiru james, Councilor Rubaga noted that  as City Councilors, they  started their role of over sight and followed up the matter.

"Due to the long pressure from City Councilors, KCCA managed to purchase only 8 ambulances yet we passed funds for 10 ambulances" Said Councilor Mubiru James.

According to city Councilors, More things we are following up are the funds that was allocated to buy mobile laboratories/ testing vehicles, PPE,  funds that was allocated to 5 divisions of kampala worth 1.6B to fight covid.

"To residents of kampala, i advise you to get a telephone number of your Lord councilor to reach him or her incase you need an ambulance for health emergencies. Note, NO paying fuel for ambulance because that is to be solved by KCCA using tax payers money" Noted Mubiru James.
