Lyantonde youths Endorse president M7 as sole candidate in 2026-2031 General Elections.

 

Youth in Lyantonde district have today 7th October 2022, endorsed President Yoweri Museveni as their candidate for the 2026 -2031 General Elections.

 

“We emphatically recommend to the membership of the Ruling National Resistance Movement and its organs that His Excellency Yoweri Museveni, our leader and General of the African resistance, continues leading the party and the State in 2026 and beyond as we eliminate bottlenecks to transformation,” youths said.

 

The youth had gathered to Celebrate the International Youth Day where they had organized a fund-raising “RUN” to collect funds for Lyantonde education scholarship Scheme.

The youths managed to collect 30 Million, during the fund raising which was spearheaded by the chief Guest Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Betty Amongi.

While addressing the youths minister amongi assured the youths that she will deliver their message to president Yoweri kaguta Museveni.

According to MIinister Amongi, the youths invited her to attend the celebration of international Youth day, though neither did she know that these youths had a huge surprise awaiting. “the youths of Lyantonde have requested me to inform the president that they are still in need of his leadership come 2026-2031 as he mentors a youthful successor.

The chief organizer of the event, Hon. Emos Asimwe, Member of parliament of Lyantonde said that as people of Lyantonde, they Celebrate and thank president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the peace and stability in Lyantonde and Uganda at large.

“The big challenge Lyantonde faces is excessive school dropouts most especially after covid-19 pandemic, which left a big number of the girl child pregnant” Said Hon. Asimwe

HE further said that Lyatonde was terribly affected by HIV/AIDS in the early 1990s which led to a high rate of orphans and poverty.

Hon. Asimwe further said that as a member of parliament, he decided to kick start a Scholarship Scheme which will help mostly the Orphans and the needy.

“With time, I will also start up a skilling facility to enable school drop outs and young mothers to acquire Skills, i.e. Tailoring, Hair dressing, Moto Cycle repairing, carpentry etc.” He said.

After the run, the youth also planted over 6,000 Trees to conserve the Environment and keep it green.
