M7 locks down Mubende and Kasanda to curb Ebola spread


While addressing the nation on 15th October 2022, President Museveni  banned movement of people from Mubende and Kasanda districts to other parts of the country for 21 days with immediate effect.


According to president M7 there will also be a dusk to dawn curfew in those areas. Public transportation is as well banned out of and within the two districts, for 21 days. 

"Only cargo vehicles, security vehicles, Ministry of Health workers, and permitted government vehicles are allowed to move within the districts. Since Mubende and Kasanda and centrally located, vehicles from other areas are free to cross the two districts, but they shouldn't stop or pick or drop anyone from or in the two districts" said president Museveni.

President Museveni Further said that  Cargo vehicles from other areas are allowed to offload goods in the two districts during daytime up to 5pm. Cargo truck drivers and turn-boys who come into the two districts should not sleep there. If they do, they will be required to to stay there for 21 days. 

Trucks from the two districts can ferry goods out. Schools will remain open. Cases of absent pupils should be reported. school goers should be in uniform. All bars and places of entertainment in those places are closed. All burials will be conducted by ministry of health agents and not attended by the public. All bodies should be tested for Ebola before burial.
