Ugandans in losses after Airtel and MTN Blocking BLQ Betting transactions on orders of NLGRB

 

 

More than  three thousand Ugandans across the country are in panic after National Lotteries and gaming Regulatory Board ordering Airtel,MTN and UCC to Block BLQ betting link, an online gamboling site. 

According to to the gaming Regulatory Board statements, BLQ has been operating in Uganda illegally and had failed to comply with the regulators. 

Our reporters across the country have conducted survey from more than ten districts and realized that a number of Ugandans had subscribed to this betting site, mostly the youths.


"I've been playing my bets with BLQ which was introduced to me by a friend 2 months ago, I always used mobile money to deposit money and withdraw it when I win, but unfortunately over the weekend the system stopped making withdrawal yet it has my money" said one of the victims

Another victim informed our reporter that she had almost 1m on his account but couldn't  withdrawal it.
"I consulted on BLQ customer care team via telegram why I couldn't make any withdraw any more, they told me and other clients to top up more money before we could withdraw it, little did I we know the Company had been frozen" a one Muhammad Ali said.

Uganda has over 50 Betting companies and Casino according to NLGRB Records.
