Being the Capital city of Uganda, Kampala city has the highest population, According to Uganda bureau of statistics, the current metro area population of Kampala in 2022 is 3,652,000  a 5.24% increase from 2021.

Most of  these people works in the areas of the City center, mainly Nakasero market, wakiseka market, Arua park, owino market, Kikubo, kafumbe mukasa, katwe, kibuye, Ndeeba, Natete, kasubi,Nakulabye and other areas in Kampala and the metropolitan. 

In the areas mentioned above the population rate  is approximately 1,000- 20,000 people per day, who are visiting to either do the shopping or always in those busy areas for other business. 


Ebola cases are shooting up with the latest  information from the ministry of health Uganda. 

As per today, minister of Health Dr Ruth Aceng confirmed that Mulago has 14 Ebola confirmed Cases. 

"Yesterday 23rd Oct 2022, nine (9) individuals were confirmed positive for Ebola in Greater Kampala region bringing the total number of cases to 14 in the last 48 hours" Said Dr Ruth Aceng.

Arnold musamali : If the 9 cases are contacts of the fatal case who came from Kassanda  district and passed on in Mulago Hospital, this means these contacts could have got in contact with other people and the chain will continue.

Mubende and kasanda  were put under lockdown by president yoweri kaguta museveni with only 30 cases and 14 deaths. So with the high rate at which Ebola is spreading in Kampala, the head of state won't hesitate putting Kampala on lockdown.

The 2022 Uganda Ebola outbreak is an ongoing outbreak of the Sudan  Ebola  Virus, which Causes Ebola, in the western Region and central Region of Uganda. It is Uganda's fifth Outbreak with Sudan Ebola virus and a total of 63 reported cases and 30 deaths recorded as of October 20th 2022.
