In order to improve diagnostic services in Government facilities, each Regional Referral hospital is to receive a CT scanner according to permanent secretary Ministry of health, Dr Diana Atwine.
Dr Atwine says that CT SCANNERS produce detailed images of many structures inside the body for diagnosis of conditions i.e damaged bones, cancers, heart, lungs and liver diseases, tumors.
According to Dr Atwine So far, Entebbe, Jinja, Moroto, Hoima, Fortportal and Mbale Regional Referral Hospitals have received the equipment.
Whereas Masaka, Mbarara, Kabale, Gulu, Lira, and Arua Regional referral hospitals to receive them as distribution is ongoing.
Though she says that Soroti and Mubende, the machines will be delivered when the sites are completed.Dr.Atwine confirmed
