Information on our desk indicates that unknown assailants armed with guns attacked Nankulabye police station around 4am, 23rd November 2022 .
According to police deputy Spokesperson Kampala metropolitan, ASP Luk Oweyesigyire, the police manpower at nankulabye police station was on Alert and assailants were over powered.
ASP Luk Oweyesigyire says that assailants abandoned an AK47 magazine with 5 round of ammunition
“A team of investigators with the help of canines followed the direction the attacker took but unfortunately, they could not successfully trace them,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan PRO said in a press statement released this morning.
Owosigyire say investigations into the matter have commenced aided by CCTV cameras to try to identify the attacker and their movements.
This is another attack on Police posts where officers are targeted and guns taken.
On 31st October, 2022, there was a violent attack on Busiika Police Station at around 7.30pm, by a group of armed assailants, who shot and killed two police officers on duty, injured two others. One officer was critically injured and two police guns were robbed.
The facts gathered indicate, that the assailants who were about 7, emerged from 3 different sides, two in front and one from behind, were armed with a pistol and guns.
They shot and killed, D/IP Wagaluka Alex, the in-charge CID and PC Ongol Moses, both attached to Busiika Police station. During the attack, the assailants injured two other police officers, who included; PC Ochom Adrian and PC Odama Stephen.
They also burnt several casefiles and attempted to burn the station. The fire was however, successfully put off by the community at Busiika Town Council.
