Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah in company of Minister for Kampala Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, Deputy Attorney general Jackson Kafuuzi,Local government state Minister Victoria Rusoke, RCCs and Local leaders spent the entire afternoon at Wandegeya Market in Kampala to inspect and discuss the problems affecting operations of the market.
This follows a presidential directive to have all market operations streamlined.
Market vendors are complaining about exorbitant charges in allocation of stalls, poor hygienic conditions among others.
While meeting KCCA leaders and some market representatives on Tuesday this week, President Museveni directed that all markets be managed by low income earners.
He condemned the practice where markets are managed by the rich who in turn charge high fees from the common people.
The President directed on the harmonisation of issues affecting the common people in the informal sector in Kampala and the surrounding areas.
Nabbanja delivered the president's directive.
