Police in Kasangati are investigating on unidentified assailants who attacked a private Security guard of GKO private Company and stole his gun.
According to deputy Spokesperson Kampala metropolitan, ASP Luk owoyesigyire, the guard was attacked while heading to his beat and cut by unidentified assailants at about 7:30 PM and his gun taken.
He further said that police team responded and took the guard to Mulago hospital for treatment while the search for the gun had commenced.
Theft of guns and attacks of Security personnel is at high risk in the country, with the recent attacks on Gadaffi army barracks in jinja, where one UPDf Sargent was killed and gun stollen.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has said these criminals targeting weapons and are part of the merging rebel movement with its bases in Luweero and Mityana.
