BTM TV lays off more than 30 employees including Journalists, 3 run to court.

It looks like Covid-19 Pandemic had affected several business sectors in the country as more Companies continue cutting off employees.


Lacal Tv. Station BTM located in Kamwokya has also laid off more that thirty of its employees after failing to raise revenue to pay their salaries .


According to our informers, the station has put on hold  journalists, News anchor and supporting staff.

It's with a heavy heart that we have to lay you off as communicated last Friday in the general staff meeting" - message sent on Company whatsap. 


Thought the station manager strengthened all employees who lost their jobs.

"We believe this is not the end and pray for your success in the next endeavors.

The accounts will communicate on when your balances will be fully settled" - Managing Director.


Though this has prompted  three of its employees to run to court seeking justice in what they called exploiting. 


Those who went to court include:- Lubega  Francis and Kiyingi Godfrey who have been  working as reporter at the parliament of uganda , Naluja  Alice Luganda  News Anchor.


They all claim that the station terminates them on a short notice and has not paid them salaries of approximately three months.
