Otafire Worns police against illegal arrests & abductions.

Minister Kahinda Otafiire warns police while witnessing the Endorsement of president Yoweri Museveni Kaguta for 2026 by women council in Lango sub region on the 29th November 2022 from Mayor’s garden,as he rushes to Gulu at around 2:50 PM for yet another function

He advised police authorities to follow a hierarchy of reporting matters and promised to deal with any errant police officer or administration that will arrest people on false allegations.’

“I am telling the police don’t arrest anybody unless you get the truth and the truth only. RPC DPC if anything goes wrong in your arrest, I will come for you”  warned Otafire.

Minister Kahinda Otafire while officiating the function likewise called upon the people of Lira to support good programs brought by the government of President Museveni instead of negative criticism.

“Agende ,Agende, must stop, Agende, Agende for the sake of it must stop this business OF Agende must go then you do what?. It must stop, what alternative do you have?  said Otafire.

Just last month, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rtd. Maj Gen. Kahinda Otafiire likewise warned police against making arrests before investigations.

Speaking during a visit to Jinja Road Police station, Otafiire said that he is tired of the unlawful arrest and false imprisonment of Ugandans by security agencies, especially police.

According to Otafiire, arrest without making investigation is an abuse of their office.He asked the Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola, to order his men to stop arresting people before conducting thorough investigation.
