Police fires teargas to disperse Bobi, Besigye from prayers

On Friday morning, Uganda police blocked end of year prayers that were organised by Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the Principal and the Four-time Presidential aspirant Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye at Nsambya Sharing Hall.

Mr. Kyagulanyi and Besigye had organised there payers in what was dubbed UnitedForcesofChange

looking at what they have gone through and the new plans in the new year.

However this did not go as planned since Uganda Police dispersed the gathering saying that the prayers were not organised legally.

Before, military was deployed at ’s office at Katonga road.

Shortly before, teargas was fired at the people returning from the blocked United Forces of Change end-of-year prayers at Sharing Hall Nsambya.

In his tweet, Besigye said; This is today’s @PoliceUg brutality that has marked the end-of-year for United Forces of Change! This was after they blocked our Nsambya Sharing Hall prayers. 2023 will be a year of United struggle for a New Uganda!.

In the same way, Bobi Wine tweeted; After illegally blocking our Prayers at Nsambya Sharing Hall, we went ahead and held them outside the closed gates. I’m sure God heard our prayers- what is left now is for us to do our part! The cowardly regime enforcers have arrested over 20 of our comrades!

……for simply coming out to pray and stand in solidarity with us. We are coming together as the #UnitedForcesOfChange. God willing, we shall accomplish the mission.

This follows yesterday’s story that was published here that read;

End of year prayers get a boost as three notable Uganda’s opposition politicians confirm attendance.

Among these are former Presidential aspirant Hon. Robert Kyagulayi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine, Uganda’s longest opposition Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Warren Kifeffe and Kampala Capital City Authority Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago.
