Transport Companies hike fares as Christmas fever sets in.

As the Christmas fever sets in, transport companies have hiked fares in almost all taxi and bus parks in Kampala, citing high fuel prices.Moving from Kampala to Mbarara is now at Shs 50,000 from the previous Shs 30,000, and the journey from Kampala to Masaka is now at 30000, from the usual 15000.

Traveling to Kabale is currently at Shs 70,000 from Kampala to Fort Portal the fare is now Shs 60,000 from the usual 40000 for both journeys.

Kampala to Jinja - Shs 40,000 from 20,000, Kampala to Iganga Shs 45, 000 from 25,000, Kampala to Palisa Shs - 50,000 from 30,000, Kampala to Mbale - 50,000 from 30,000.

Kampla to Soroti 50,000 from 30,000. Kampala to Lira is now 70,000/-. 

Kamapal to Gulu stands at Shs 100,000 from 50,000 /- 

Kampala to Arua is now at 120,000/- from 60,000/-
