The body of late professor Kuuya arrived at St. Andrew Church of Uganda Bukoto at 12 noon for funeral service.
It was a sombre mood on the 8th of December 2022, as hundreds of Government officials, family members and friends gathered to witness the ceremony.
Being a UPC congress man, the president of the party, Akenna Jimmy and his mother the first lady, mama Meria Kalule Obote were present at St. Andrew.

The body of the late was taken to Mbale after prayers for the final burial arrangements.
Who is Professor Patrick Masette Kuuya.
Dr Kuuya 76, son of Abner Walyawula of Sibanga Bugobero Sub County in current Manafwa district succumbed to cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital in Kenya.
He fled to Kenya where he has been lecturing at the school of economics at Kenyatta University after the overthrow of government by Tito Okello.
Dr Patrick Masette Kuuya, a teacher by profession and a PHD holder in economics served as a Rehabilitation minister during Milton Obote II government.
Besides serving as a minister, the deceased held other senior positions in the UPC government, including treasurer and chairperson of the National Council of Sports.
Dr Kuuya was also MP of Mbale Bugisu South constituency between 1980 and 1985.
When Obote was toppled in 1985, Kuuya fled to neighbouring Kenya and stayed there until his death.
Masette Kuuya was part of the UNLA that liberated Uganda with the support of Tanzania in 1979 with the ranks of captain.
Masette Kuuya wanted the whole Mandela National Stadium also built at Nabumali ahead of a Confederation of East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) Championships, but he met resistance.

Unlike many of his colleagues from Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC), who returned to work with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, Kuuya Obote's strong man in Bugisu spent his life in academia and farming.
