"Boda riders to pay 40k-100k to reclaim Impounded motorcycle over luck of riding permit"- POLICE

 

While addressing the media yesterday 12th January 2023on the ongoing arrests of boda boda riders and impounding of their monocycles, The kampala Metropolitan police pro, SP Patrick  Onyango said that riders are required to pay a fine of 40,000/- and avail the motorcycle documents in order to claim back his motorcycle.

Motorcycle owner who's rider ignores to collect motorcycle and rather sends his boss will pay a fine of 100,000/- after presenting original copies of Logbook.

• The police crackdown that commenced this  week, is targeting riders without permits.
• previously, few weeks ago, police was impounding  motorcycles, for riders  without reflector jackets and crash helmets among others.

The ongoing operation is still ongoing, is aimed at bringing sanity on the roads that had been messed up by indiscipline cyclists.
