Dr Tanga Lashes out at Tayebwa for endorsing Late MP Okabe's Son, eliminating the NRM Flag Bearer.

The Chairperson of the National  Resistance  Movement  Electoral Commission, Dr. Tanga Odoi, has lashed out at the deputy speaker, Thomas Tayebwa and other  senior party leaders, who presented Emmanuel Omoding, the son of the late Serere County MP Patrick Okabe, to replace his father, who was not on the party ticket.

How it started.....

It was fracas in Serere as mourners were sending off their own member of parliament, Hon. Bishop patrick Okabe and his wife who perished in an accident on monday 19th December 2022.

Fracas was when the NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern region, Capt Mike Mukula  pledged to listen to the plea of the people of Serere county to have a son of the late Patrick Okabe take his mantle in parliament for the remainder of the term.

Serere county NRM flag bearer Philip Oucor declines to comment on proposal by several NRM leaders to back Okabe's son to succeed his late father, though NRM national women's league, Hon. lydia wanyoto also requested the voters of serere to stand behind late Okabe's son.

If at all this happens , it will be a norm in uganda and the third time after the passing on of Mp Rehema watongola of Kamuli municipality, who was replaced by daughter and then the passing on of the former speaker of parliament and member of parliament omoro county , Rt Hon. jacob Oulanyah who was replaced by his son, who  massively won the election.
