Kambuga Hospital is Kanungu's main health facility where Minister of Information communication Technolage & National Guidance, Hon. Chris Baryomunsi was rushed for emergency management after he collapsed on the 7th of January 2023.

Minister was later airlifted to Kampala to save his life because the hospital had no specialists of heart attack related problems.

Kambuga was built by President Edi Amin dada in 1960s and rehabilitated by president Museveni in 2019.
The facility was then equipped with a modernized theater and maternity ward after rehabilitation in 2019 according to ministry of health reports.
According to a published report, the hospital buildings and equipment are still dilapidated and crumbling which calls for renovation most especially staff quarters and other wards.
The district local Government is still struggling to run the hospital due to poor funding.
The hospital is located in the town of Kambuga, in Kanungu District, approximately 144 kilometers (89 mi) north-west of the Kabale Regional Referral Hospital.
This is 122 kilometres west of the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
Kambuga General Hospital was established in 1965. It is owned by the Uganda Ministry of Health. It is administered by the Kanungu District local government.
