CNN Names Uganda among the Best destinations to Visit in 2023.

Uganda is arguably the best place to travel to for that memorable experience and this can be witnessed by CNN’s latest report – naming it among the top best destinations of 2023.

This is attributed to the number of attractions the ‘Pearl of Africa’ holds within her boundaries that include; the national parks that are home to rare wildlife species like mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks, tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector of Queen Elzabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park named after the world’s most powerful waterfall – Murchison falls and alot more.

According to CNN, “There’s considerable change brewing in Uganda’s travel offerings at the moment with the East African country looking beyond the traditional staples of safari and wildlife spotting to appeal to both regional and international visitors.

“Keen to revitalize post-Covid tourism in all corners of the country, not just the big-ticket businesses offering wealthy visitors a glimpse of the Big Five beasts or mountain gorillas, it’s turned to marketing its other attributes.

“And why not? From the expansive shores of Lake Victoria to the snowy Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda is a beautiful wilderness playground, with opportunities for adventure including treks through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or up to the craters of the Virunga volcano chain or whitewater rafting along the Victoria Nile.”

They added that there’s also an emphasis on connecting visitors with Ugandan communities — promising tastes of Ugandan food, music and culture.

Lilly Ajarova, the CEO Uganda Tourism Board recently revealed that, “Uganda has 54% of the remaining world’s mountain gorilla population and with that position we pride ourselves as the key destination for mountain gorilla experience. Beyond that in terms of primates, we have more primate species than any other destination in the world. We have some of the very unique features in the world which make us the best destination for any traveler.”

Other countries featured include Rwanda, Tanzania, Egypt, Liverpool in England and others.
