Arecent Bank of Uganda newspaper advert in one the dailies listed two properties that the bank wants to dispose.
Among the properties is the Governor Bank of Uganda residence located at plot 7-9 Elizabeth Avenue Kololo, Kampala City.
According to the advert, members of the public have been invited to bid for the properties.
The Governor Bank of Uganda residence bid security is sh506m.
Bank of Uganda management hasn’t come out to give a statement about the sale.
It should be noted that following the death of long-serving former Governor Bank of Uganda, Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, early last year, Anita Among, the current Speaker of Parliament, asked Government to permanently give the Governor’s residence to his family as a token of appreciation for his dedication to serve Uganda which caused uproar among ugandans wondering how a man who worked in govt and even handling all UGANDA's money could fail to build a house for his family.
