National resistance movement (NRM) leaning candidate in Serere By-election, Mr. Omoding Emanuel Okabe has been barred from attending the two Presidential Rallies in Serere Town Council & Ocaapa Town Council.
According to the state house Protocol, they say he didn't test for Covid-19 to be eligible to access the VIP tent.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in Serere to campaign for the official flag bearer, Oucor Philip, and meet with all NRM district leaders.
Besides not testing for Covid-19, Late Okabe's son has also been told that the president is I the area to attend to members of National resistance Movememt (NRM).
The official campaigns for the Serere County by-election ending today and polls on Thursday.
There are five candidates struggling to replace Patrick Okabe, who died in a road accident in December last year.
The candidates are Emmanuel Omoding, Okabe’s son who is running on an independent ticket, Emmanuel Eratu of FDC, Phillip Oucor of NRM, Alice Alaso of ANT, and martin Onguruco, an independent.
