Mbale SS on the spotlight for charging students 25k teargas fee.

MBALE SS STUDENTS CHARGED TEAR GAS MONEY BEFORE GETTING UCE RESULTS.

Parents and students at Mbale senior Secondary school are in shock after the school administration charged them twenty five thousand shillings (25k) said to be teargas fee before collecting UCE results.

Several parents and students have informed our reporter that all 2022 S.4 students were tasked to pay 25,000/-  in the office of the bursars before collecting their results.

"The school claims students held a strike last year which prompted police to use teargas to disburse the crowd"- Stephen, a parent.

Another parent says the school isn't issuing any receipt acknowledging that one has paid the 25,000/- which puts a very big question mark on the charges.

Fred, a parent, said that 25,000/- is affordable and little money to us but why are we paying this money for?

Imagine, 25,000 x 600 = 15,000,000/= quite a lot of money, he added.

Speaking to Mr. Buyera Moses- (Headmaster), he says that students destroyed property during examination time in November and they are all paying that money to replace the destroyed desks and windows.

He further referred us to the school Circular which we have not seen the charges indicated "teargas fee".
