Minister kitutu On the spotlight for swindling Government property - State House Anti corruption Unit Storm Manafwa District.

State house Anti - Corruption Unity team has spent two days in Manafwa district in Eastern Uganda, after receiving information from whistle blowers, accusing minister for karamoja affairs, Hon. Mary Gorreti kitutu, who also doubles as woman Member of parliament Manafwa District for diverting several Government  relief items to her constituency, instead of delivering it to karamoja as per records. 

Our reporter from Bugisu sub - region has confirmed to us that a team from state house Anti-Corruption unit heavily  camped in Manafwa to establish how Government property, meant for karamoja ended up in Manafwa District.

Our reporter's findings indicate that State house anti - Corruption Unit yesterday 11th Feb 2023, stormed a home in Situmi parish in Bukhaweka and recovered iron sheets.

Three people were also arrested during the search  in Situumi, the arrested are  Minister's relatives (brother , nephew and store man). the three suspects are currently being held at Mayetse police.

According to information gathered, this home belong to Minister Kitutu's Mother .

In one of the churches name withheld, Anti - Corruption unit also recovered a number of Government iron sheets.

The searching continued to 3 churches and 2 schools, where it is also said that part of the iron sheets were donated.  By end of the day State house anti - corruption unit had recovered more than 450 Government Iron sheets.

Findings also indicate that some of these iron sheets were given to minister's coordinators who helped her  during the 2021 general election campaigns. 

Surprisingly, after being tipped off by other residents, people were seen off-roofing their houses in fear of being arrested by state house. 

The three houses located  in Bukusu & Makhakhala village, were left roofless and owners  taking off in fear of being arrested.

State House anti corruption Unity is not ready to disclose information nor speak to media till when the search mission is done. 

We tried reaching out to the minister on the allegations but unfortunately, she couldn't pick our calls.
