International University of East Africa (IUEA), Kampala. Is in preparations for the installation of its 2nd Chancellor, Amb. Amina Mohamed.
Ms. Mohamed will be IUEA’s second Chancellor. She is preceded by IUEA’s Founding Chancellor, the late Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile who passed on in January 2022. Professor Mutebile, served as Chancellor from 2010 to January 2022.
The event will take place on the 15th of Feb 2023.
Ms. Amina Chawahir Mohamed Jibril is a prominent lawyer, diplomat and politician who has a passion for education. She also has immense national, regional and international leadership experience. She served as the Cabinet Secretary for Sports in Kenya. She previously served as chairwoman of the International Organization for Migration and the World Trade Organization's General Council, as well as Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme. She served as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya from May 2013 to February 2018, when His Excellency, President Uhuru Kenyatta, after re-election, moved her to the Education Ministry. In March 2019, she was moved to the Sports Ministry.
The installation of the 2nd CHANCELLOR OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EAST AFRICA will take place in the main auditorium at the university’s main campus in Kansanga, Kampala.
