Police Recovers two guns stolen from Bungokho police station in Mbale.



Police in Mbale District has recovered two AK47 guns that were stolen on 24/ Nov/2022 from Bungokho police station after it was alleged that police officers on duty had gone to watch football.


During a press conference at Regional block Mbale city, the Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson, Mr Rogers Taitika, confirmed the recovery of two AK47 guns stolen from Bungokho police station in Mbale district.


"The thugs entered our police station of Bungokho and stole two AK47 guns and a radio call." Taitika noted.


Taitika said that police  recovered them in a collective efforts with the help of community,  RPC,  Mbale district DPC, UPDF and flying squard."


"We arrested four suspects who have been using these guns in stealing. And these young boys are from with in." He added.




"They had gone to steal in Nangwesi trading center in Nabumali Mbale district but we were tipped by the locals, we took action and arrested them and others were arrested in Bududa."-Taitika 


Taitika said a gun in the wrong hands is not safe for the community, these are the very thugs who killed Masaba David a resident Bungokho sub county but we thank God we have them.


The four suspects will be taken to courts of law and be charged for stealing guns and robbery.
