Job Richard Matua, petitioner in NSSF saga shocked the house when he said that the salary budget for NSSF is UGX 104 billion per year for 600 people.
"Let me do simple mtc, On average, everyone is earning UGX 14,000,000, this is our funds being misused, these are savers funds in NSSF" - Matua
He further told the committee Meals alone cost UGX 11 billion yearly.
This means that every employee at nssf takes home a total of 18.3m per year as meal allowances.
This was revealed yesterday 1st feb 2023 as the Parliamentary Select Committee on NSSF kicked off its investigations into the alleged saga at NSSF.
During the meeting Matua also accused Lyomoki for requisitioning Shs 1 billion from the NSSF for activities not known by members of COFTU.
Matua also raised an alarm on the NSSF houses built in Lubowa that cost between Shs 1.5 billion to Shs 3 billion that savers cannot manage to possess a house.
Matua disclosed some of the Ugandan companies and firms that owe NSSF billions of shillings meant to be remitted for workers. He believes there is connivance between these companies and the employers.
To him the funds at NSSF are safe and happy with the governance structure at the NSSF.
