"Why can't Nandala's Hotel show us the CCTV Footage, Otherwise our Son's death from a swimming has Questions'' - Relatives.

Our investigation journalist team is still on ground to establish new findings on the sudden death of a 3rd year Makerere student, who is said to have drowned in a swimming pool at mountain inn hotel in Mbale city. 

The deceased who was identified as wamono Emma

was in his 3rd year at Makerere University pursuing Bachelor of electrical engineering.

According to information on our table, he was found laying dead under the swimming pool by hotel management.

late Wamono was supposed to be buried yesterday  Monday 6th February 2023, in Bunambutye Village, Mbale district but information on our reporter indicates that his burials had been delayed for further investigations.

While at the funeral service at the lates' home, one of his uncles name withheld told mourners that the lates' death postmortem  report is wanting.

The old man who spoke softly claims that the late  had  injuries on his head yet the hotel management claim he had drowned in a swimming pool.

"Emma's death has questions, why is his head having cuts yet we were told he had drowned, his belly was flat at the time his body was retrieved from the pool, this hotel has CCTV camera's allover, why can't the avail us with the footage so that we avoid speculations in his death" - Uncle said. 

The uncle to the late rubbished Makerere's press release claiming that they had no Morale authority to speak about a death which happen outside the university premises.

 "Why  is Makerere university administration so much interested in the death of Emma, why were they among the first people to release the postmortem report even before medics and police?, they are almost 300 miles away from the scene but they knew what transpired" - Uncle. 

The uncle further accused the hotel management for negligence which led to the death of their son.

On Saturday 3rd Feb 2023,  Makerere university 3nd year student identified as Wamomo Emma was found dead in a swimming pool at Mountain Inn in Mbale City.

Information on his death is so wanting, several narrations from eye witnesses claim he drowned in the pool, though Makerere University claims that the late was trying to save a child who was drowning.

According to our reporter, the deceased left Kampala for Mbale on Friday 2nd Feb 2023 for a 2 weeks holiday.

Upon reaching Mbale at his aunties home, him and his cousins decided to go for swimming at Mountain inn hotel located on majanga road, opposite cure Hospital.

The posh hotel  belongs to Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Member of parliament Budadiri West.

It is said that the cousins decided to go have a drink as Emma went for swimming at the premises swimming pool. 

After a couple of good hours, the cousins started looking for Emma (deceased) but he wasn't spotted anywhere at the hotel premises.

They opted to notify the hotel management but unfortunately the managers of this place tended to ignore and told the little cousins that they are occupied with other duties at the hotel.

latter, in the evening the management together with the lates' cousins  discovered Emma's body laying helplessly under the swimming pool.

At this moment, there was  no clear information whether the deceased knew how to swim because the pool had no attendant by the time of the accident.

Probably, had the pool had an attendant, he or she would have given our report a clear picture on what exactly transpired. 

Funny part of it:-

At around 5pm, the body was escalated from the pool without notification of police. It is also said that Mbale news reporters had been tipped off but unfortunately they were compromised by Hotel management.

The late is a son to Mr. Nakimesi Micheal, a national forestry officer in  Mbale district who hails from Busano in Mbale district. 

The Elgon sub region Police Spokesperson, ASP Rogers Taitika, says investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the actual cause of Wamono’s death.

Taitika confirmed that the  initial postpone report rules out allegations that were spreading that the late was strangled and thrown in the pool adding that more samples have been taken to the government analytical laboratory for further investigations.  

We tried reaching out to the hotel management about the incident but no one was ready to talk to our reporters.
