President Yoweri Museveni’s blue-eyed girl, Prossy Mwanjuzi the Mityana Deputy Resident Commissioner (D/RDC) yesterday [17th March 2023] cautioned public servants against fighting the current government since it’s the ‘hand that feeds them.’
Ms.Mwanjuzi who became a household name in Mbale where she selflessly served before being transferred to Mityana, made the above remarks during her meeting with secondary school headteachers under their umbrella of ‘Mityana Secondary School Head Teachers Association‘. ”It beats my understanding when I see public servants fighting their own government and President who is their boss. Can you imagine fighting a hand that feeds you? In fact, to some of us, our President Museveni is not only our leader but our father, he is one of the great leaders that really have the citizens at heart,” Ms. Mwanjuzi ‘preached’ to the head teachers.
It’s against this background that Ms. Mwanjuzi urged educators to wholeheartedly support President Museveni and promote government programs aimed at generating wealth and employment opportunities.
Ms. Prossy as a mother and a patriotic Ugandan who respects her culture, norms and values, used the same meeting to alert teachers against the vice of homosexuality which is said to be rampant in Mityana schools.
”As heads of academic institutions, I request you to engage your learners and tell them the dangers of homosexuality, let’s work together to eliminate these evil acts from our beloved country. If we keep silent we shall be putting our innocent children at greater risk to be recruited by these gay people,” Ms. Mwanjuzi cautioned.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mwanjuzi encouraged the head teachers to form Saccos so that government can bail them out of financial constraints.
”Gov’t wants organized people. I therefore, urge you to form Saacos so that President Museveni can support you financially by injecting in some cash,” Ms. Mwanjuzi tipped teachers.
Mwanjuzi however warned the head teachers against the misuse of government funds-the Universal Secondary Education (USE) noting that if she gets one will face it rough.
”Gov’t has injected a lot of money in schools but it’s so sad that it’s being eaten by head teachers and those on the boards of the schools, leaving our students to helplessly suffer,” Ms.Mwanjuzi warned.
Also, Ms. Mwanjuzi warned head teachers about absenteeism.
”Am sure the government is facilitating you very well. Therefore absenting yourselves from schools makes you the number one enemy of Uganda and if such is reported in the Office of the President Mityana District we shall surely handle you in a tough way,” Ms. Mwanjuzi warned before she directed the District Education Officer (DEO) and Inspector of Schools Mr.Kifampa Hamidu to deal with the indisciplined teachers.
In conclusion, Ms. Mwanjuzi alerted the head teachers to be security conscious in their schools and work together with responsible security agencies. She assured them of full security support from her office and that of her senior RDC.

In his remarks, the leader of Mityana head teachers, Mr.Kabanda Paul thanked God for giving them, Ms Prossy whom he described as a hardworking and down-to-earth servant.
”I thank God that we have you as our D/RDC. Personally, I used to hear about you when you were still in Mbale City and the huge achievements you registered there in the shortest time you spent in the office are known. Am glad that we are going to work with a lady of actions,” noted jubilant Kabanda.
Mr. Kabanda also promised that as teachers, they’re ready to work with Ms. Mwanjuzi to mobilize for the NRM government.
”Many leaders have not been involving us in most gov’t programs and this had demotivated us. So your coming to Mityana is a huge boost for NRM government and we look forward to building a strong support base for our dear President Museveni,” said Mr. Kabanda.
