Nation Media Group Journalist Edward Muhumuza was laid to rest.

Nation Media Journalist Edward Muhumuza has been laid to rest amidst cries and so much sadness from friends, relatives, and workmates.

Edward died in an accident on Saturday along Entebbe Expressway Highway at Mpala.

The Late Edward Muhumuza

Born in 1988, Muhumuza died at the age of 34. Friends and colleagues gathered at his ancestral home in Kibuye, Kyegegwa district to pay their last respects on Monday, March 27th, 2023.

He was a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist church and a director of communications at SDA Kampala central church where he was a choir member.

His last assignment in the newsroom was a tour to the Albertine region where he was expected to produce a special report on how people affected by the east African crude oil pipeline project were living.

The award-winning journalist has been eulogized by many as a man of integrity who demanded the best out of himself and all those he worked with.

While speaking to mourners on behalf of field journalists, Abubeker Lubowa described the late as an intelligent, brilliant, friendly, and professional young man who liked his job. he also told mourners that as field journalists, they were able to contribute 3.6m towards burial arrangement.   

   

N parliamentary press Association through its president, Sam Ibanda Mugabi contributed 800,000/- and they also rated the late as unreplaceable journalist in the media fraternity.  

Church of Uganda Media Association (CHOUMA) also sent in condolences and contributed 100,000/- towards burial arrangements.
