Azimio protestors have managed to gain access to the Kenyatta International Convention Centre despite a heavy police presence They were led by various Azimio leaders, including Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna, Rosa Buyu and Sam Atandi Azimio protestors were expected to converge at the KICC to start their official Maandamano. 

Azimio protestors in Nairobi have gained access to the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) as anti-government demonstrations intensify in Nairobi.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna led the demonstrators into storming the building, and they braved teargas by police who were trying to stop them.

A number of the protestors were also arrested in the melee that ensued as they were trying to gain access to KICC. Reports indicate the demonstrators managed to overpower the police and entered the KICC premises though the teargas and running battles did not stop.

A video shared showed the demonstrators chanting Azimio slogans led by Sifuna while standing at the entrance of KICC. Other Azimio leaders who were present included Rosa Buyu and Sam Atandi. Azimio protestors were expected to converge at the KICC to start their official Maandamano.
